Different ways to find job vacancies

 If you have ever looked for work before, you will know how hard it is to find a job that is suitable for your experience and qualifications. And, even if you are a great match for the work, it doesn’t mean that you will get the job.  

You need to make sure that you know how to find job vacancies and where to look for new work. This is a lot harder than you might think, even in our world with all the technology. You need to know everything about finding work and where to look for job vacancy advertisements.  

Make sure that your curriculum vitae is up to date 

Before you start applying for job advertisements, you must ensure that your Curriculum vitae or CV is up to date. With your CV, you can include a professional Credo to ensure that people know how dedicated and hard-working you actually are.  

The best thing you can do is to get a professional CV and credo. Spend a little money on a professionally designed one. Then, you will have the best chance to stand out between other CVs and job applications.  

Look online at career networking sites 

This is the great thing about our technology today. We don’t need to go from company to company looking for work and giving out your CV and credo. Now, you can do your search online. 

Most companies are using the internet and social media to post job openings. If you know where to look, you will find that there are many job listing sites where you can find the right job. Sometimes if you register on the job listing website, they will send you work opportunities that are a good fit for your CV.

Don’t always focus on the job listings and requirements 

This is a tip that we got from the Credo community. Do not always just apply for work where the job listing and requirement fits your experience. Especially when it comes to large companies. Even if you don’t fit the requirements, there is nothing wrong with sending your CV to them anyways.  

Maybe they have an opening for you on a job they didn’t list yet. Or, maybe they like your CV so much that they create an opening for you. You will never know if you don’t try.  

Talk to family and friends 

Yes, talk to family and friends. Telling them that you are looking for a job or you are looking for another opportunity than the work you are doing currently. They might know someone that has a job opening. Or, their work might have the right opportunity for you. 

If you don’t tell friends and family about your need in wanting a job, they will not know to be on the lookout for you. The more people who are looking at job vacancies for you, the easier it will be to find a job.  

Look at internships  

Yes, not many people like internships. They don’t pay as much, and you might have the experience to start the work without an internship. But this might be your opportunity if you don’t find anything else. They might look for an intern, but if they see that you are already experienced, they might give you a permanent position with more pay and more benefits.  

We tend to focus only on the job that we want or looking for. In the meantime, there are other opportunities that might lead to your perfect job. Sometimes we need to start from the bottom in order to reach the top. When you are climbing a ladder, you don’t jump to the top step. You start at the bottom and take it step by step to the top.
